Nightlife care network

Nightlife Care Network is a monthly consultation hour organised by the N8BM A'DAM foundation, Centram, Jellinek Prevention and Buurtteam Amsterdam Centrum. You can come to us if you have any questions or want to talk about what you experience while going out.

During the Nightlife Care Network consultation hour, you can talk to us in a confidential environment. We are here to help you or just to be a listening ear. We can also refer you to one of the experts or partners in our network.

The consultation hour is every second Wednesday of the month from 5 to 7 pm. The consultation hour is free of charge. You don't need a referral.

The dates for the upcoming consultation hours are 11th of December, 8th of January
12th of February, 12th of March and 9th of April. The location is Het Claverhuis, Elandsgracht 70*. Sign up via the calendar tool.

*This location is wheelchair accessible.

How it works:

    1. Check what you can come to the consultation hour for
The consultation hour is intended for anyone that partakes in nightlife and has questions about mental health and social problems they may experience while going out. Read more about who the consultation hour is intended for in the FAQ.
    2. Sign up via the calendar tool
Choose the date and time slot you want to use. You can also choose which employee you want to talk to. Read more about how to sign up in the FAQ.
    3. You will receive a confirmation of the appointment by email
If you have not received a confirmation first check your spam inbox. Still no confirmation? Send us an email with your name and time of your appointment. Then we will check if you are in our schedule.
    4. The appointment has been made: you go to the consultation hour
Please arrive 10 minutes in advance. You will be met on location by one of our employees.
    5. The consultation
Based on what has been discussed, you and the employee decide what a good next step might be. It is also possible that we decide together that further steps are not necessary and the consultation was sufficient. It depends on what you want and need. What we discuss is always completely confidential. One consultation lasts a maximum of 20 - 30 minutes.
    6. Referral to one of our partners
If we decide that a referral is required, we will go through the possible next steps together. We are connected to a wide network of organisations that can support or help you.

Make an appointment

You can make an appointment with us here . We offer online and face to face consultations. There is also limited space for walk-ins during consultation hours, however, this does not guarantee an appointment with one of our employees. One of our employees will let you know if there is space. Keep in mind that you may have to wait a while.

Why Nightlife Care Network?

The Amsterdam nightlife offers the opportunity for fun and is an outlet for many people. It's a way to escape from daily stresses, responsibilities, or pressure to perform. The night can be a valuable place to discover yourself and meet new people. For some, the night is the only place where they can be themselves.

However, some may also experience the less pleasant sides of nightlife. We see that not everyone feels equally safe or accepted. Some people who go out often may use alcohol and other drugs more often than they might like. Some may struggle with feelings of loneliness or face financial problems. We also see other risky behaviour on the dance floor, such as aggression or (sexually) transgressive behaviour.

The Nightlife Care Network connects various care and aid organisations with nightlife and is carried out by professionals who also have a background in nightlife. They understand better than anyone the importance of night culture, and also the risks involved. With the consultation hour, we want to offer accessible help for everyone who experiences challenges during the night, free from judgement or taboo.

As a committed neighborhood team worker in the Jordaan, Inge helps Amsterdam residents who are struggling with challenges in various areas of life. These include loneliness, financial concerns, addiction, homelessness and mental health problems. Together we look at what support needed. This may take the form of personal counseling, practical help or referral to specialist organizations. The goal is to explore the situation together and to provide tailor-made solutions to your specific needs. Because Inge has been closely involved in the Amsterdam nightlife scene for years, she knows the ups and dows of it and can empathize well with the problems that may occur.
